On May 29, 2024, at approximately 12:30 p.m., 48-year-old Maurice Bailey was fatally shot at the McDonald's located on California City Boulevard in California City, California. According to the California City Police Department, officers responded to reports of a shooting and found Bailey lying on the floor of the restaurant with a gunshot wound to his head. He was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
