On the evening of June 5, 2024, 33-year-old Betty Monyea Cummings was fatally shot in West Sacramento, California. The incident occurred at her residence on the 300 block of Bridge Place, following her return from celebrating her daughter's fifth-grade graduation. A juvenile, identified as one of Cummings' children, called the authorities to report the shooting.
