On June 8, 2024, a violent altercation erupted at the Oak Shores Day Use Area on Lake Berryessa's western shore in Napa County, California. The confrontation involved two large groups who reportedly did not know each other prior to the incident. During the melee, 39-year-old Vallejo resident Andres Fabian Sandoval Garcia was fatally shot. Additionally, several individuals sustained stab wounds, with at least two requiring airlift transport to local hospitals.
