On June 21, 2024, at approximately 7:20 p.m., 38-year-old Juan "Tony" Garcia was fatally shot on a Metro E Line train at the La Cienega/Jefferson station in Los Angeles. The incident began with an altercation at street level involving Garcia and a group of individuals. The dispute escalated as both parties moved to the train platform and boarded the same train, where Garcia was shot in the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
