On June 23, 2024, at approximately 11:53 p.m., Santa Ana Police received a distressing call from 85-year-old resident John Kort, who reported that he had shot his wife inside their home located in the 2300 block of North Towner Street.
Upon arrival, officers discovered 70-year-old Nancy Kort suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to her upper torso. Despite immediate lifesaving efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene by the Orange County Fire Authority.
