On July 15, 2024, 35-year-old Edward Shi was fatally shot at his workplace, 8Loop Trans, a logistics company located in the 18600 block of Gale Avenue in the City of Industry, California. The incident occurred shortly before 9 a.m., when deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department responded to reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found Shi with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper torso; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
