On the night of July 18, 2024, at approximately 11 p.m., Chula Vista police officers responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting in the 200 block of C Street. Upon arrival, they discovered 23-year-old Genesis Burgueno suffering from a gunshot wound, accompanied by a man whose identity has not been disclosed. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, Burgueno was pronounced dead at the scene.
