On August 12, 2024, at approximately 9:30 p.m., 48-year-old Marcus Crenshaw was fatally shot in the parking lot of a liquor store near the intersection of Crenshaw and El Segundo Boulevards in Hawthorne, California. Responding officers from the Hawthorne Police Department found Crenshaw with multiple gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics.
