On August 29, 2024, 58-year-old Brian Henley was fatally shot near the intersection of Vine and Fruitland Avenues, just outside Atwater in Merced County, California. The Merced County Sheriff's Office responded to the incident and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
