In the early hours of September 6, 2024, tragedy struck in Modesto, California, when 43-year-old Jose Valdez was fatally shot in the parking lot of Citi Auto Sales on McHenry Avenue. Police responded to reports of gunfire shortly after midnight and found Valdez with at least one gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
