On October 1, 2024, 34-year-old Estevan "Steve" Mejia was found deceased from a gunshot wound to the head in the 300 block of Durfee Avenue in South El Monte, California. His body was discovered in a bushy area, and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department promptly initiated a homicide investigation.
