On October 24, 2024, at approximately 10:40 p.m., 18-year-old Kenton Bluitt-Ealy was involved in a single-vehicle accident at North Graham and Collier roads, just north of the Lockeford community in San Joaquin County, California. Initially, it was believed that he had succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash.
An autopsy conducted by the San Joaquin County Medical Examiner revealed that Bluitt-Ealy had suffered "suspicious injuries" consistent with a gunshot wound. This finding prompted the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office Investigations Unit to take over the case, reclassifying it as a homicide.
Bluitt-Ealy was a recent graduate of Tokay High School, having completed his studies in June. He was employed in customer service at an HVAC company and aspired to become a data analyst or computer programmer. His family remembers him as a loving, passionate, and ambitious individual who was always willing to help others. He is survived by his twin brother, mother, and grandmother.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with Bluitt-Ealy's death. The San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office has urged anyone with information to come forward and assist in the investigation. They have also encouraged residents in the area to review any surveillance footage that might provide clues.
