On March 30, 2023, in Nashville, Tennessee, 29-year-old Mitchell Steele Jr. was fatally shot during a confrontation between neighbors. The incident occurred on 14th Avenue North, where Steele was assisting a friend with moving out of an apartment. This friend had an ongoing dispute with a neighbor, 30-year-old Teddarrius Perry.
