On July 8, 2023, at approximately 6:56 p.m., deputies from the Hamblen County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported shooting on Marie Street in Talbott, Tennessee. The 911 call was placed by 69-year-old Charles Barbely, who informed dispatchers that he had shot his wife, 66-year-old Mickey Yana Wykle Barbely.
