On July 9, 2023, retired Memphis Police Department homicide detective Mark Anthony LeSure, aged 57, was found unresponsive in the driveway of his Memphis, Tennessee, home. Officers responded to a man-down call at approximately 8 a.m., where LeSure was pronounced dead at the scene.
