On July 12, 2023, a tragic incident occurred in Nashville, Tennessee, resulting in the death of 21-year-old Genesis Garcia. The incident took place in the parking lot of the Avery apartments in south Nashville, where Garcia resided. Detectives believe that Garcia was shot during an attempted carjacking.
