In the summer of 2023, a young man's life was tragically cut short in the Raleigh neighborhood of Memphis, Tennessee. Jeffrey Lynn Smith Jr., a 23-year-old Black male, was fatally shot on July 14th. The incident unfolded within the supposed safety of an apartment, a place that would tragically become the scene of a violent crime.
