On October 3, 2023, in Dunlap, Tennessee, 64-year-old Marcella "Marcy" Renee Ervin was fatally shot in her residence. Her husband, 63-year-old Keith Edward Kopecky, contacted authorities around 4:30 p.m., reporting that he had shot his wife. Upon arrival at their home on Windridge Drive, law enforcement found Ervin deceased and took Kopecky into custody without incident.
