On July 8, 2024, a tragic incident occurred at NHC Healthcare Sequatchie in Dunlap, Tennessee, resulting in the deaths of Marchie Bubul, aged 81, and her husband, Kirk H. Bubul, also 81. According to Dunlap Police Chief Randy Phillips, Kirk entered the nursing home where Marchie was a resident, fatally shot her, and then turned the gun on himself.
