On a spring evening in Memphis, Tennessee, what began as a lively block party in the Orange Mound neighborhood descended into chaos and tragedy. Chalmar Fason, a 22-year-old male, was caught in a barrage of gunfire that erupted at the unpermitted gathering on April 20, 2024. The sudden violence sent hundreds of attendees scattering in fear as the festive atmosphere was shattered. When the shooting ceased, Mr. Fason was among the fatally wounded, his life cut short in a senseless act.
