On October 4, 2023, at approximately 3:12 a.m., Philadelphia Police responded to a shooting incident on the 1000 block of Appletree Street, a narrow alley behind Tango nightclub in the city's Chinatown neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers discovered 38-year-old John Hershock, a well-known local DJ, suffering from a critical gunshot wound to the head.
