In the quiet community of Levittown, Pennsylvania, a tragedy unfolded that cut short the life of 25-year-old Taylor N. Daniel. On the morning of March 16, 2024, a violent rampage shattered the peace, leaving a family and community in mourning. Taylor, a lifelong resident of Levittown and a graduate of Pennsbury High School, was a devoted mother to her two young daughters.
The events of that fateful Saturday began to unravel when Andre Gordon Jr., the 26-year-old father of Taylor's
children, initiated a series of violent attacks. Prior to arriving at Taylor's home, he had already shot and killed his 52-year-old stepmother, Karen Gordon, and his 13-year-old sister, Kera Gordon, at a different location in Levittown. His path of violence then led him to the residence on Edgewood Lane where Taylor lived with her mother and children.
Upon Gordon's arrival, Taylor's immediate instinct was to protect her family. She yelled for her family members to hide in their rooms and lock the doors as she called 911, identifying Gordon as the armed man at her door. Gordon forced his way into the home, breaking through the front door. In a final act of love and protection, Taylor guided her two young daughters, ages 5 and 3, into a bedroom to hide. It was there that Gordon shot and killed her.
In the aftermath of the shooting, Taylor's mother, Nancy Daniel, heroically confronted Gordon, striking him with an axe handle before he assaulted her with his rifle and fled the scene. The violent spree continued with a carjacking before Gordon was apprehended by law enforcement in Trenton, New Jersey, later that day.
Andre Gordon Jr. was subsequently charged with three counts of first-degree murder, along with numerous other offenses related to his rampage. In the face of overwhelming evidence, Gordon pleaded guilty to the three counts of first-degree murder. He was sentenced to three consecutive life terms in prison without the possibility of parole, ensuring he would never again pose a threat to the community he had terrorized.
