On a tragic Saturday morning in Levittown, Pennsylvania, the life of 52-year-old Karen Gordon was violently cut short in a devastating act of domestic violence. The events of March 16, 2024, began to unfold when her stepson, Andre Gordon Jr., arrived at her home on Viewpoint Lane. He had carjacked a vehicle in Trenton, New Jersey, before driving to the residence.
Upon his arrival, a doorbell camera captured a confrontation between Andre Gordon Jr.
and his father before he forcibly broke into the house. Inside, a desperate scene unfolded as Karen Gordon sought refuge with her 13-year-old daughter, Kera, in a first-floor office. Karen made a harrowing 911 call, telling the dispatcher, 'My stepson, he's the one shooting. Please we've got children in here!' The call captured Kera's pleas for help, followed by screams and then gunshots, ending in silence. When police arrived, both Karen and Kera were found deceased. Others in the home, including her husband, another teenage daughter, and a visiting relative, were physically unharmed.
The rampage did not end there. Andre Gordon Jr. then drove to a second home in Levittown on Edgewood Lane, where he killed 25-year-old Taylor Daniel, the mother of his two children. He also brutally attacked Daniel's mother with his assault rifle, causing injuries that required hospitalization. Following this, he carjacked a second vehicle from a Dollar General parking lot in Morrisville and fled back to Trenton. The violent spree led to a multi-state manhunt and shelter-in-place orders in Bucks County. After a tense standoff at a Trenton home where he was believed to be barricaded, Andre Gordon Jr. was arrested a few blocks away, having apparently slipped out before the police cordon was established.
In the aftermath, Andre Gordon Jr. faced a litany of charges in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey, including three counts of first-degree murder. Initially, prosecutors in Pennsylvania announced their intention to seek the death penalty. However, in May 2025, Andre Gordon Jr. pleaded guilty to three counts of first-degree murder and other offenses. He was subsequently sentenced to three consecutive life terms in prison without the possibility of parole, ensuring he would never again threaten the community.
