In a quiet home in Greene Township, a suburb of Erie, Pennsylvania, the life of 66-year-old Diane L. Clark, a female, came to a tragic end on Monday, November 4, 2024. Concern arose when a family member was unable to reach Diane or her husband, prompting a request for a welfare check at their Woodrose Lane residence.
Responding to the call that evening, Pennsylvania State Police entered the home to a somber scene.
They discovered Diane's husband of 42 years, 75-year-old Brett Clark, deceased in the living room. In a bathroom, they found Diane, also deceased. Both had been shot.
The investigation by the Erie County Coroner's Office concluded that the incident was a homicide-suicide. It was determined that Brett Clark fatally shot his wife before turning the gun on himself. As the perpetrator was also deceased, no arrests were made in connection with Diane's death.
Diane was remembered as a vibrant and talented woman. A 1976 graduate of General McLane High School, she initially pursued a career in cosmetology and electrolysis, running her own business for two decades. Later in life, she found a new passion as a flight attendant for Southwest Airlines, where her warm personality left a lasting impression on passengers and colleagues. A gifted dancer with a certification in Cecchetti Ballet, she also shared her musical talents by singing in her band, Midnight Blue. Her creativity extended to being a skilled seamstress who enjoyed making gifts for her family, especially her grandchildren.
