On the night of February 19, 2023, in Haw River, North Carolina, 57-year-old Ervin Lee Jones was fatally shot during a reported home invasion on Second Street. Responding to reports of shots fired, police discovered Jones deceased from gunshot wounds. Another individual at the scene sustained serious injuries and was transported to a hospital, where he was listed in serious but stable condition.
