On April 28, 2023, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, police officer Domingo Tavarez-Rodriguez and his wife, Yenitza Arroyo-Torres, were found deceased in their home on Vandenberg Drive. The discovery occurred after Officer Tavarez-Rodriguez failed to report for his scheduled duty at 6 p.m., prompting supervisors to conduct a welfare check. Upon entering the residence, both individuals were found with gunshot wounds.
