On September 29, 2023, at approximately 10:00 p.m., a tragic shooting occurred in the parking lot of Dudley High School in Greensboro, North Carolina, following a football game. The incident resulted in the death of 59-year-old Reverend Matthew Wayne Grant, a beloved associate pastor at New Light Missionary Baptist Church. A juvenile male also sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the shooting.
