On October 9, 2023, 30-year-old Jacklyn Marie Reed of Johnson City, Tennessee, was fatally shot at a McDonald's restaurant on Four Seasons Boulevard in Hendersonville, North Carolina. The incident began with an argument between Reed and another woman at a nearby bus stop. Seeking to distance herself, the other woman entered the McDonald's, but Reed followed her inside.
