On October 20, 2023, at approximately 8:47 p.m., the Granville County Sheriff's Office responded to a shooting incident on Southern Court in Oxford, North Carolina. Upon arrival, deputies discovered two individuals with gunshot wounds: 44-year-old Malinda Drumgold Anderson, who was pronounced dead at the scene, and a 20-year-old man who sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
