On April 9, 2006, authorities responded to a domestic dispute on J.I. Oaks Road in Granville County, North Carolina. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Delores Anderson, a 49-year-old African American woman from Bullock, deceased from a gunshot wound to the head. Another woman at the scene, Connie Almond, had been shot three times but survived the attack.
