On December 22, 2023, at approximately 8:41 p.m., Goldsboro Police Department officers responded to a reported shooting in the 1600 block of South John Street in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Upon arrival, they discovered 45-year-old Vincent Kornegay suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency Medical Services pronounced him dead at the scene.
