On January 28, 2024, 29-year-old Damian Ryan Brayboy was found deceased in his residence on Springhill Church Road in Hamlet, North Carolina. Responding to a call about a possible death, deputies from the Richmond County Sheriff's Office, along with Hamlet Fire & Rescue, discovered Brayboy inside the home with apparent gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
