Eddie “Tank” Brooks Thomas Jr., 43, a Black man from Hamlet, North Carolina, was found shot inside a home on Rose Street in the Dobbins Heights community around 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2025. Deputies with the Richmond County Sheriff's Office discovered Eddie “Tank” Brooks Thomas Jr., 43, deceased at the scene from a gunshot wound, and investigators noted that the 43-year-old man did not live at the residence where he was found.
