On February 5, 2024, at approximately 4:30 p.m., deputies from the Robeson County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a shooting in the 500 block of Fodiesville Road in Shannon, North Carolina. Upon arrival, they discovered 31-year-old Lisa Marie Chavis deceased at the scene. Another victim, 30-year-old Linnie B. Locklear Jr., was found injured and transported to UNC Southeastern Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
