On March 25, 2024, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Alexander County 911 received a call reporting a shooting at 295 Old Mountain Village Drive in Hiddenite, North Carolina. Upon arrival, officers found 33-year-old Pang Vue Yee, a resident of Newton, with a single gunshot wound to his chest. Despite being transported to a local hospital, Vue Yee was pronounced deceased.
