On April 20, 2024, 47-year-old Kenny Dean Locklear of Pembroke, North Carolina, was found deceased from a gunshot wound at a residence in the 2600 block of West McDuffie Crossing Road in Lumberton. Responding to reports of a shooting, Robeson County Sheriff's deputies discovered Locklear's body and promptly initiated a homicide investigation.
Locklear, affectionately known as "Skins," was remembered as a dedicated family man and a hard worker.
He is survived by his parents, Norma and Ted Holmes; his sons, Jonah D. Locklear and Kenneth Locklear; adopted sons, Isaiah O. Locklear and Jasiah O. Locklear; granddaughter, Jaylee Kayleana Locklear; fiancée, Ashley F. Locklear; sister, Amy L. Locklear; and brother, Christopher Locklear. His passing has left a significant void in the lives of his family and friends.
