On the evening of May 5, 2024, 26-year-old Antelmo Bryan Salinas Martinez of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, was fatally shot while driving on U.S. Highway 158 near the Yadkin River bridge, close to the Forsyth County line. The incident began around 8:30 p.m. at Truist Soccer Park, a sports complex in Davie County, where Martinez and three companions were attending a youth soccer match.
