On May 11, 2024, at approximately 11:20 a.m., an off-duty Durham police officer heard gunshots in the parking lot of a business located in the 3700 block of Mount Moriah Road. Upon investigation, the officer discovered 31-year-old Scott Edward Snyder Jr. suffering from a gunshot wound. Snyder was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
