On May 11, 2024, at approximately 11:20 a.m., an off-duty Durham police officer heard gunshots in the parking lot of a business located in the 3700 block of Mount Moriah Road. Upon investigation, the officer discovered 31-year-old Scott Edward Snyder Jr. suffering from a gunshot wound. Snyder was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Earlier that morning, at around 11:12 a.m., officers had responded to a disturbance near the intersection of Southwest Durham Drive and Durham Chapel Hill Boulevard. There, they found 32-year-old Jennifer Faith Eno in a vehicle, also suffering from a gunshot wound. She was taken to a hospital but unfortunately passed away from her injuries.
The investigation revealed that these two incidents were connected. Authorities arrested 32-year-old Brandon Julius Eno, the estranged husband of Jennifer Eno, charging him with two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of his wife and Scott Snyder Jr. Eno is currently held in the Durham County Jail without bond.
Reports indicate that Scott Snyder Jr. was in a relationship with Jennifer Eno at the time of the shootings. The tragic events have deeply affected the Durham community, leaving friends and family mourning the loss of their loved ones.
