On August 3, 2024, at approximately 3:15 a.m., 21-year-old Caleb Turner was fatally shot during a large house party in the 1900 block of Exum Road near Nashville, North Carolina. According to the Nash County Sheriff's Office, Turner was targeted in an attempted robbery by three individuals who sought to steal his firearm. During the confrontation, Turner's gun was taken and used against him, resulting in multiple gunshot wounds that led to his death at the scene.
