Calvin Akeem Ellis, a 36-year-old man from Nashville, North Carolina, was shot on a late-summer Sunday and died soon after at a hospital. Officers with the Nashville Police Department were dispatched around 2:45 p.m. to a home on Smith Street, where they found Ellis—known in the community as “Chucky”—with multiple gunshot wounds.
