On August 10, 2024, at approximately 11:06 a.m., Craven County Sheriff's deputies responded to a reported shooting at 564 Clark Road in Vanceboro, North Carolina. Upon arrival, they discovered 45-year-old David Antwan Jenkins suffering from gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel.
