Durand Robinson, a 50-year-old businessman and prominent figure in Atlanta's LGBTQ+ community, was shot and killed on August 25, 2010, in southwest Atlanta. Robinson was a co-owner of Traxx, a well-known nightclub that catered to the Black gay community, and he played a key role in organizing Atlanta’s annual Black Gay Pride event. His death occurred just days before the city’s Pride celebration, adding to the shock and grief within the community.
