On the night of November 4, 2023, at approximately 11:10 p.m., 30-year-old Bronx resident David Disla was fatally shot in the head inside an apartment building located at 381 East 160th Street in the Melrose neighborhood. Responding to a 911 call, police officers arrived at the scene to find Disla with a critical gunshot wound. Emergency Medical Services transported him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, where he was pronounced dead.
