In the early morning hours of a Tuesday in Savannah, Georgia, the life of Gregory Williams, a 42-year-old man, was brought to a violent and tragic end. On June 7, 2011, just after 2 a.m., an altercation inside his two-story duplex on the 300 block of West 32nd Street concluded with the sound of gunfire.
Williams was shot and subsequently rushed to Memorial University Medical Center. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving. He was a native of Statesboro, Georgia, but had attended the public schools of Chatham County and was known to be self-employed for many years.
