On September 21, 2024, at approximately 1:00 a.m., 39-year-old Maurice Sinclair Thomas of Hempstead, New York, was fatally shot during a gathering in the rear parking lot of 134 Yale Street. Thomas and a group of friends, including 30-year-old Kane Moore, were engaged in a card game when an argument erupted between Thomas and Moore.
