On May 3, 2023, at approximately 3:30 p.m., St. Louis police responded to reports of a shooting near the intersection of Laclede and North Taylor avenues in the Central West End neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers found 29-year-old Miguel Alexander Johnson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
