On July 3, 2023, at approximately 4:41 p.m., Joplin police responded to a residence on Kent Drive after a friend discovered 37-year-old Jacob A. Williams deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The Jasper County coroner ruled his death a suicide.
