On a Thursday afternoon in Saint-louis, Missouri, on January 11, 2024, a burst of gunfire shattered the calm in the 3600 block of Cass Avenue. When the sounds of the shots faded, 44-year-old Samuel Butler, a male resident of the 2700 block of Henrietta Place, was left lying on a sidewalk. Police officers, responding to a call about the shooting around 3:30 p.m., discovered Butler at the scene. He had sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead where he was found.
