In the early afternoon of a Wednesday in March, tragedy struck in the community of Pagedale, just northwest of St. Louis. On March 20, 2024, a 15-year-old male, Lawrence A. Clark, was fatally shot in the 1500 block of Purdue Avenue. The incident occurred around 1 p.m., at which time officers were dispatched to the scene following a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Lawrence on the ground with apparent gunshot wounds.
Despite any efforts to render aid, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Lawrence was a resident of Vinita Park, a small city located about two miles west of where the shooting took place.
The investigation into the death of the teenager was swiftly initiated by the Pagedale Police Department, who soon requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis to lend their expertise to the homicide case.
