In the early morning hours of July 9, 2013, the life of 19-year-old Antwan Rivers, Jr. was tragically cut short in Savannah, Georgia. A Black male, Rivers was discovered on a sidewalk in the 1100 block of East 38th Street after residents in the area reported hearing multiple gunshots at approximately 1:22 a.m. He had sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
Despite the immediate response from law enforcement, the individual or individuals responsible for Antwan Rivers' death have never been
identified. The Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department launched an investigation into the homicide, but the case has since gone cold. Over the years, authorities have appealed to the public for any information that might provide a lead, emphasizing that even the smallest detail could be crucial to breaking the silence that surrounds this unsolved murder.
To date, no arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly named in connection with the shooting.
